Hello to all. My family celebrated Mother's Day early as I had to leave on Friday to come to Beaver Lake to begin practice for the upcoming Tour event here. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother, and I never would have made it to the Tour and following my dream without her. If you haven't already, make it a special point to tell your mother how much you appreciate her. Remember, if I can you can! Practice is going well for me so far. Beaver will fish much different than it has any previous time that I have been here. The lake is very high, and I have seen chocalate milk that was easier to see in. This should make the event more of a power event and less of a finesse event. That suits me to a T. My goal this year is to weigh-in fish every day and put myself in position to make a check. So far, I have been pleased with my progress. I know that with hard work and determination, I am going to be able to succeed on this trail.

What a fabulous week! I was blessed with the opportunity to stop by Jordan Lake just outside Ft. Bragg North Carolina and compete in the "Warriors on the Water" tournament for our wonderful service man & women! I had an awesome time being paired with a great soldier, we had an absolute blast and he almost won his part of the tournament!! From there I went to Lake Norman, in Huntersville North Carolina and fished our FLW Tour National Guard Open! I had a awesome practice! Caught a bunch of fish and was able to carry away some valuable points from the tournament! Have a great week and God Bless!
April 21
Well I am on Lake Norman practicing for the upcoming FLW Tour event there. Practice is going really well, and I am excited about the possibilities for me in this tournament. On Friday, I had the privilege of taking a soldier fishing at the Warriors on the water tournament. It is always an honor to be able to give back at least in a small way to those who have sacrificed so much for us. Remember, if I can you can. Watch flwoutdoors.com on Thursday and Friday to follow my results in the tournament.

Hello. What a great & busy week! I've been in 2 FLW Tournaments and drew out and fished with some great co-anglers! I fished on Smith Lake in Jasper, Alabama. Had a great week, caught alot of bass and just came up a little short on the quality keepers. In the midst of all that was going on I even had the privilege of being the emcee at the BassFan Army Amateur National Championship! Well I hope you all have a great week, I'll be back in touch soon! Take care & God Bless you all!
March 31
Hello everyone! I'm in the middle of a "living the dream" two week stretch. I have just finished competing in a FLW Series event on Wheeler Lake in Alabama. I was happy with the way the tournament progressed. I was able to put together a pattern that enabled me to weigh-in a tournament limit of fish on the third day of the tournament. I believe that with each passing competition my skills and knowledge are improving. I am also feeling more and more confident in my ability to compete and win at this level. Currently, I am practicing on Smith Lake in Alabama for this week's FLW Tour event there. I'm looking to improve upon my 105th at Toho with a top 100 finish here. Each tournament, I feel myself getting a little closer to breaking through and winning my first individual check in a national tournament. With your continued prayers and support, I know it is just a matter of time before that happens.
March 24

What a week. I returned home from Florida where I competed in the first FLW Tour event of the year and got my season off to a good start. Upon returning home, I began practicing for the next FLW Series Event and the next FLW Tour event both of which happen to be taking place near my home in Alabama. I am getting to spend a lot of time on the water which always makes me smile. I was also blessed with getting to meet with many wonderful people in Americus, Georgia where I spoke on Thursday night. I hope everyone has a great week, and hopefully, I'll have some good practice reports for you next week. Take care and God Bless you all!
March 3
Wow!! What a week!! Thats about the best way I know to put it. I've been doing so many things in so many different cities it's hard to remember what day it is or where I live! It all started with a great trip to the 2008 BassMasters Classic where I was blessed with watching a close friend of mine win his 1st world championship! I had the great opportunity of working and representing my sponsors and making my new book "THE VIEW FROM DOWN HERE IS JUST FINE" available! I left from there and went to the Flw Tournament at Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Florida. I thankfully got off to a great start and got very close to earning a great check! However I did earn a great amount of points towards earning a spot in the Flw Championship in August! Well have a great week! Take care and God Bless you all!

While it was nice to spend time with family and have some down time, this is what I love doing. I am finding some places that I think that I will be able to scratch out a limit if the temperature doesn't drop too bad. I had a good start to the year last year here, and I'm looking to improve upon that this year. Hopefully, I'll have some great news to report next week. In the meantime, please keep up with my progress on the FLW Team Tour Notes and Blog page or watch the weigh-ins live at www.flwoutdoors.com. God bless you all!

Then I came home Friday night and got to watch my High School Football team win a crucial game to get locked in to the Alabama State High School Playoffs! Also I've been continuing to prepare for my upcoming Flw Series tournament here in a few weeks! I also was very glad our High School football team pulled out a huge region win to help us toward our goal of making the Alabama State Playoffs! I hope you all have a great week! God Bless!
September 10 Hello everyone! I wanted to check and see how you all were doing, I hope this finds you doing great! I just got back from my Flw Series B.P. Eastern Division tournament on lake Champlain. I had a very good time and caught several smallmouth and largemouth bass! The weather was beautiful except for the actual tournament days which were very stormy and windy, I just had a very difficult time putting together a game plan for the better quality fish! I'm very thankful to get back home and start preparing for Pickwick which is my home lake! Take Care, God Bless you all!
September 3 Hello from New York. I'm here preparing for the next FLW Series event. Practice has been tough so far, but I'm still working hard to find the fish I need to get a finish in the money. July 16 Wow what a week! How are all of you doing.... I have had an awesome week! I just got finished with the season finale of the 2007 Flw Tour on the Detroit River in Michigan. What an incredible fishery! I had so much fun catching alot of big smallmouth bass and came within a single ounce of getting my 1st Flw tour check. Lakes St. Clair & Erie are so awesome but you better watch the wind as it can get brutal up there so fast! Thankfully I have a Ranger Boat with an Evinrude Outboard and some awesome Lowrance electronics! We'll I wish you all a great week, I'm going to bring you all back a surprise next week. Thanks again for your support!
July 2 Hey! I hope this week finds all of you doing well! It's been a great week for me, I have been spending some off time and enjoying being with my family and friends. As you may guess I've fished about all week! I took a few days and went to the famous Lake Guntersville and was able to catch some nice bass! I'm also getting ready to leave for the Detroit River in Trenton, Michigan for the 2007 finale of the Flw Tour, I hope the next time I have a good report for you all from there! Have a safe and fun July 4th! May God Bless You All!
June 18 Well I'm back! Wow, I thankfully had one of the best performances with FLW this past week that I've had in my career. I had an opportunity to bring in a great limit of approximately 15 lbs., the sad part is I lost a 4 pounder and 2 more bass that were in the 3lb class before I was able to land 2 good bass that gave me 6 lbs 9 ozs for day 1. Then on day 2 I was able to have a good size limit by noon and unfortunately one of my bass shrunk about an 1/8th of an inch and I was able to weigh 4 bass for a total weight of 8 lbs 15 ozs. I am very thankful to have a better performance this tournament and hope I'm building towards finishing out the season on a great positive ending. I hope you've all had a great week, God Bless you all!
June 11 Hello everyone! I'm sorry for the delay, I have been waiting for internet access! What a great week it's been! I'm in Maryland pre fishing for the upcoming Flw Event on the Potomac River. I've had a very productive practice and have even had a look at the Capital and the Washington Monument from the awesome waters of the river! I'm going to keep on practicing and hopefully turn this practice into a great tournament. I'll talk to you soon! Back to pre fishing! God Bless!
June 4 I am enjoying being home for a couple of days before heading to the Washington DC area to prepare for the upcoming FLW Tour event on the Potomac River. This past week was awesome. I finished the week by fishing in the Seattle Seahawks charity fishing tournament to benefit CAST for kids. I was fortunate enough to be purchased by Mike Flood, VP of Community Relations for the Seahawks in the auction on Friday night. Mike brought Michael Boulware with him to fish with me on Saturday. While the fish didn't cooperate, we had a blast! I was really impressed by the large number of Seahawk players and staff who turned out to help raise money for CAST for kids. Thanks to all who participated. I have also receieved a ton of email from the kids at East Hills school. What an honor and thrill it has been for me to read them. Thanks so much to all who have sent me mail. I really appreciate your support.
May 31 I am excited to be in Washington this week, and I am having a blast. Today, I spoke at East Hills school in Renton. The kids there were incredible. This week I have visited Seattle's Pike Street Market and space needle before heading south to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. It was an incredible experience to see Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Rainier is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Tomorrow, I will speak at a BBQ fundraiser for CAST for kids before being auctioned off for a day of fishing on Saturday. I have been able to get some quality R and R between speaking engagements here. It has been a very nice break, but I am really getting fired up about going to the Potomac River and getting back into the competitive swing.
May 28 I am in Washington this week for several speaking engagements and some much needed R and R. Last night, I spoke to the Washington BASS Jamboree. The Jamboree is a very neat event where federation anglers bring there families to Banks Lake near Grand Coulee dam for a weekend of fishing and fellowship. After my speech there I went to Grand Coulee dam and watched a Memorial Day laser light show which was conducted on the side of the dam and a fireworks display afterwards. It was pretty cool. This afternoon we had a scenic drive along the Columbia River as we headed over to the Seattle area.
May 9 I am excited to be in Arkansas for the second event of the FLW Eastern Series. As you may recall, in the first event I had my highest tour level finish to date. I am having a good practice, and I am optimistic that I can carry forward with my good start on this trail. I am catching fish using some of my favorite techniques which always makes the competition even more enjoyable. Thanks again for all of your support and well wishes. Hopefully, we'll have some exciting news to talk about next week.
May 2 I am glad to be back home after a tough tournament at Lake Norman. I really felt like I had the chance for a very high finish there, but the bite changed the first day of the tournament, and I just didn't figure that out soon enough. I did have the pleasure of helping my buddy Hank Cherry out on the second day of the tournament when he experienced some mechanical difficulties. Hank finished the first two days of the competition in first place and finished the tournament with his highest tour level finish. With my assistance to Hank and after having experienced some mechanical difficulties of my own, I was able to fish less than half of the day on the second day of competition. Accordingly, I was very happy to weigh in two fish. I feel like if I had had the whole day, I would have been able to put together a limit. I feel like I am beginning to fish better and to be more comfortable fishing at this level. I am excited about what lies ahead.
April 30 Hey! What a busy week it has been! I just returned home this weekend from my FLW Tournament on Lake Norman and thankfully had a great practice and some awesome things happened while I was gone... I had the opportunity to meet several very nice people while in the Charlotte/Huntersville area. Also while I was there I had the blessing of sharing my testimony with the Greenwood Baptist in Florence, South Carolina... What sweet and loving people they were! I had a really good time while in North Carolina and now it's time to get ready for our 2nd Flw Series BP Eastern Division tournament on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Arkansas. Have a great week, I'll be back in touch soon!
April 23 Well, it's been another busy week. My practice on Lake Norman is going very well. I really think I started to figure the fish out the last part of the week. Then on Saturday, I travelled to Florence, South Carolina to speak at a wild game dinner on Saturday night and a chuch service on Sunday. Then, I returned to Lake Norman to resume my practice for the upcoming FLW Tour event here. I'm looking for a break out performance here. After winning my first tour level check at the PAA event on Lake Fork, I'm hungry for another one here. Thanks again for your support and prayers. Until next week...
April 16 Well hey everybody! I have just returned home from the AWESOME 1st Annual Toyota Texas Bass Classic on Lake Fork in Texas. What a week!! I had 3 phenomenal practice days and caught some BIG ones! Keep a watch out on CBS and Versus network on Mothers day for the tournament coverage and see the INCREDIBLE action!! I was fortunate to be in 3rd place on the "cut day" before being bumped out to finish in 6th place overall!! I'm now preparing to leave for my practice session on Lake Norman, in Charlotte, North Carolina for the 3rd FLW Tour event. Have a fabulous week! God Bless!!

April 2 Hello to all my fans! I'm back at home and trying to get ready to leave again! I absolutely had an incredible time up in Knoxville, Tennessee last week at the FLW tournament. I was blessed to have a great experience while being there! I caught a lot of fish and I caught them with the techniques I really like to use! I hope you all have had a great week. I have thankfully been able to spend some time with my family, and I even went back fishing as soon as I got home! I did some "sight fishing" whish is looking at them on their spawning nests and trying to catch them. I went and practiced this technique because I am fixing to be in a big tournament in Texas where I think they will be spawning. I wish you all a great week, and I'll be back in touch in a few days!
March 26 This week I am in Knoxville preparing for the 2nd FLW Tour event of the season. I am pleased with how my practice is going so far. I don't think that it is going to take a lot of weight to achieve a high finish here. Fortunately for me, I think that the bite on the lake is beginning to play toward my strengths. I appreciate your prayers and support, and I am looking forward to what I hope will be my highest finish to date on tour.
March 19 How are all of my fans and supporters today! I'm doing really good! I had a busy week. I've done several things from speaking at a Men's retreat in Shocco Springs, Alabama, to speaking at a wild game fest in Cleburne, Texas, to finishing packing and getting my fishing tackle and Ranger Boat ready to leave for our 2nd FLW Tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee. I will be leaving on Wednesday and starting a 6 day practice period. Hopefully, when you hear from me next week I will be catching some nice Tennessee River Bass! I hope you all have a tremendous week, and I will be back in touch soon! March 12 Hey! How are my fans doing? I have had a terrific week! I have done quite a few things this week. I had the great opportunity to speak at the "ROCK" family worship center in Huntsville, Al. and also at Freedom Baptist Church in Laurel, Mississippi. Along with those events, I took some time to watch my Hamilton Aggies baseball team play and win a few games last week. I also tried to get "ahead" on some work and even took some time to go fishing a little bit. I hope you all have had a great week and I'm off to finish some work and get ready for another exciting week! Have a BLESSED DAY! March 5 Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine went very well, I spent last week getting my boat and equipment prepared to go to our 2nd stop on the FLW Tour in Knoxville, Tennessee. I also assisted D&D Marine at the "Big Toys for Big Boys" boat show at the Regency Square Mall in Florence, AL. I had a really terrific time and got to visit with some friends and fans and we sold some boats to top it off! Well I'm going to work some more on my tackle to get prepared for the tournament, have a great week and I'll be back in touch very soon! God Bless!! February 26 Hey! How's everyone this week? I'm doing great! I have had a wonderful week and weekend. I attended the Bass Masters Classic in Birmingham, Alabama. A close friend of mine came out victorious! It was a really awesome week to be able to be there for my great sponsors BassFan.com, Strike King Lures, Lowrance Electronics, Ranger Boats, Evinrude, Pflueger & All Star & X-Tools, Daiichi, Minn Kota, Plano, and Keelshield. And to have the opportunity to visit with the fans made it a wonderful week! This week is going to be another awesome week and I will be back in touch to fill you in! Have a great week and thank you for taking the time to read this. God Bless!
February 19 Hello to you all! I am off and going full speed ahead with the 2007 FLW tours! I have just returned back from the Lake Travis tour event and will be attending the Bass Masters Classic in Birmingham, AL. I had an opportunity at Lake Travis to have a great tournament but I had a couple key fish that got off but I'm going to keep working and turn the momentum around hopefully for the next tournament! I have a full schedule this week and will be back in contact in a few days to let you know what's going on in my world! Have a great week and I want to thank each and everyone of you for your continued prayers and support, I can definitely tell you all are supporting me!
February 12 As the tournament season and speaking season is into full swing now, I realize now more than ever that I'm living a dream. Last Monday, I picked up my new boat; Tuesday, I did a photo shoot for my book and a promotional video for organizations; Wednesday, I traveled to Texas; Thursday and Friday, I practiced on Lake Travis; Saturday, I spoke at the Bimarck Tribune Sporting Show; Saturday night, I led the Bismarck Bobcats Junior A Hockey Team in prayer before their game; and on Sunday, I spoke to New Song Church. Today, I'm back at Lago Vista, Texas to resume practice. My trip to Bismarck was incredible! Everybody I met there was super nice. I really got fired up getting to speak to the hockey team before their game Saturday night. The game was quite entertaining. The Bismarck Bobcats won the game in a shoot-out that went to 9 rounds before it was completed. The team gave me a sweater that had been signed by all of the players. It will be a big hit back in Hamilton. I could write a ton more, but dawn is breaking, and I have fish to find.
Thanks again for all of your support and prayers. Knowing that you are there for me, helps me keep driving ahead. Until next time... February 5 The year is truly off and running at warp speed. This past weekend I was in Atlanta, Georgia for the Fisherama event there. A special thanks goes out to Joey Mines Outdoors and Wendy's International for having me there as their guest. While there, I caught a 6 lbs bass in the fish tank during one of my seminars. I need to find one of those fish tanks on a lake somewhere. Today, I am at D&D Marine in Tennessee picking up my new Ranger boat. It is some kind of nice. A special thanks goes out to Ranger Boats and D&D Marine for recruiting me to their team. Tomorrow, I will be in Monroe, Louisiana doing a photo shoot for the cover of my biography and also filming a short inspirational message to share with various organizations when my schedule will not permit me to see them in person. On Wednesday, I will be off to Texas to begin my preparations for the upcoming FLW Tour stop on Lake Travis. This weekend I will be in Bismark, North Dakota for a couple appearances and speeches. I'm told the high wil be 0. That's pretty cold for a boy from Alabama. Finally, we are still working hard to have my book ready in time for the Classic. Thanks again for all of your prayers, support, and encouragement. Until next week...
January 29 Hey everyone! What a great Monday it is, I hope all of you had a great week and weekend! I want to first of all say "THANK YOU" for all of your support and prayers as I know you were all supporting me last week during the 1st FLW Series BP Eastern Division tournament at Lake Okeechobee! I got off to a lot better start this year thankfully! I could tell it was setting up to be a special week as I went thru practice... And I was blessed to be in a wonderful position after the second day to get a top 50 finish which thus far would have been the best I have had! It was a very tough tournament more so than all of us "fishermen" expected! I was thankful to catch what I did and now it's time to get on a jet and have a great opportunity of sharing my life story and my faith in God! And then I'll be off to Lake Travis in Austin, Texas to start off the main FLW Tour... I hope all of you have a great week and I'll be back in touch soon!
January 22 "Welcome from sunny Florida. I know that in most of the country it really is winter, but here in southern Florida, there are fish already beginning the spring spawning ritual. I am currently on Lake Okeechobee preparing for this week's FLW Series event, and I have never been more excited about the beginning of a season. Thanks to the support of my sponsors, family, and friends, I have never been better positioned to succeed in my dream. Thanks again for all of your support and prayers. Stay tuned to BassFan.com and flwoutdoors.com to follow my progress on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and hopefully Saturday. I'll recap the tournament in next week's blog.
January 15 Hello everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful week! My week has been very busy to say the least! I am in the final steps of preparation to start competing on the FLW Tour & FLW Series BP Eastern Division. I also had the tremendous opportunity to travel to South Carolina and share my faith and life story to the wonderful people of Philippi Baptist Church and Belgi United Methodist Church. Both of these Churches were absolutely incredible and offered me the utmost in hospitality. I am now back home and loading my truck and boat and getting ready to leave for the wondeful town of Clewiston, Florida and the awesome Lake Okeechobee where I will begin practicing. Hopefully, on my next report I will be able to tell you alittle about how things are going while I'm at the big "O"!! Thank you all for your continued support and prayers! I'm in the process of getting ready for the fabulous 2007 FLW tournaments to kick off... I will be heading out next week! In the meantime I had a wonderful opportunity to speak and share my life with Calvary Baptist Church in Mississippi. What a tremendous 2 days it was! I received a special blessing by being able to share with those people! I hope all of you that are sports fans are ready to enjoy the National Championship football game Monday night between the Florida Gators & the Ohio State Buckeyes. I am looking forward to getting back in touch with all of you one more time before I leave and start fishing again! Thank all of you for reading this and supporting me! Have a great day and week!
January 1 I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Years! I have had a tremendous week, from spending time with family to going to some basketball games, even going fishing and actually catching some, This winter weather has made this a great week! I started this week by spending Christmas with my family and getting to watch my two young nephews open their gifts with the utmost excitement. Then I came home and went too some of my alma mater's basketball games and thankfully was able to see them come out victorious! I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will be back in touch with you very soon! December 25 Merry Christmas to all my fans and supporters!! I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend and special Christmas! I have been like a "kid in a toy store" playing and going thru getting my fishing tackle, getting it organized and ready. I took a few days to go and test some lures also! I had success on some of the awesome Strike King Lures, I caught some on our jigs, crankbaits, & plastics. I have also taken some time to help my family and friends prepare for Christmas dinners and celebrations! I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Years!! There's a whole lot to be done and I'm having alot of fun getting it all ready to go! I have also been spending time with friends and family while I've had the opportunity to be home for a few days. My father and I have attended some High Scholl Basketball games this past week and we have been very excited to see our home team pull out some big wins! I even have been Christmas shopping! December 11 Good morning! I hope you all are having a great week! I know I am, I have been very busy having fun if that's possible! I have been fishing the last few days, I celebrated a friend of mines birthday with them, and I attended the Alabama High School State Championship football games as well! I have had a lot of fun and a relaxing few days these past few days. I had the awesome chance to go fishing with one of my fellow FLW Pro anglers on the Tennessee River, the fishing was great, I will have to put up some pictures from the trip if I can get them to download. I hope you all have had fun and I look forward to visiting with you here in a few days as we approach the wonderful Christmas Holiday! Be safe and take care, best regards! December 4 Hey there everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. I have had the privilege of going this past week and weekend to tour the Ranger Boats manufacturing facility. It's an incredible place! I found out what makes them such a safe & wonderful boat! I watched every stage of seeing one built first hand, spent a lot of time doing fun activities with my fellow Ranger Boat Pro-Team guys and even went and did some bowling with them as well! Then on my way back home I had the honor of meeting a young man in the hospital in Memphis, TN who had been diagnosed with brain cancer. This young man was 13 years young and miracously showed no signs of fear even considering he is fixing to go through surgeries and all the treatments he might be facing. Visiting with the young man and his family was truly an honor to see his determination and sheer will power to fight this dreaded disease... Well I hope everyone has a wonderful week, I'm getting prepared to start the 2007 tournament trails. I will be back in touch with all of you very soon! November 27 Hello everybody!
